Jun 11, 2017 I'm no expert on Civil War weapons so have left the final say to NSD, rather than mess with that file. I can look at a further adjustments if there's a demand. I'd agree with JC's assessment of the 1842. The 1842 Springfield.69 caliber smoothbore was a close range weapon. Scourge of War: Gettysburg is an outstanding tactical game. I've played a good number of other Civil War tactical games, including 'Take Command' but the game system, graphics and overall quality of play is vastly superior in Scourge of War. The game is very accurate historically; units, terrain, etc., are excellent.

  • If you don't already, head over to Matrix Games and purchase Scourge of War - Gettysburg
    Alternatively, purchase the entire collection with all the Map Packs
  • Download, unzip to your Scourge of War: Gettysburg Mods directory: 'Scourge of War - GettysburgMods'.
    (By default, this is probably in 'C:Matrix GamesScourge of War - Gettysburg', but you may have customized the install location.)
    Note: for the most stable Windows 10 experience, do NOT use any of the mods that are 'Optional.' It is believed that NGCMSounds (or other sound mods) is likely the cause of a crash to desktop with Windows 10.

  • Make sure that the NGCMToolbarRestrictedID and the NGCMFogOfWarLite are the last two mods in the list
  • To fix the SOW MP Lobby (so it'll connect), copy this hosts file into 'C:Windowssystem32driversetc' (it reassigns a DNS name to a new IP address)
  • Launch Scourge of War - Gettysburg and go to 'Modifications' and enable the desired mods (you must enable at least the required mods to play in NGCM games though).
  • Head over to the NGCM Discord server to see when games are going on or get help
