Your the cop mode is a very easy race but you can earn big points trust me you'll thank me.

When crossing the finish line on any lap(except start or end of race) press L2 and youshould get some points. When you press L2the screen will do a 'Matrix' camera. Yourwhole car has to be on the line for it to work. I,personally, scored over 700,000 in one 8 laprace!!!! Have Fun!!!!

In order to run a clean race you must not bump into anything....example: walls, cars, rails, etc. You must run the entire race without bumping into anything. You do not have to win the race, only run it clean. This is the only way to open up certain bonus cars like the Mercedes CLK GTR or the HSV GTS Coupe NFS version.

To avoid the cops when you are near one slow down to 40 or 30 mph and if you do it right the should not chase you. It will not work if you are already being chased by a cop.

To do a burnout hold the X button before the 1 shows upon the screen. Another way is to accelarate into a wall ortree and hold X.

At the main menu, select Hot Pursuit and then choose event 1, Lotus Elise Delivery. After coming out of the first tunnel drive up the big hill and you will see the firstcop on the side of the road. Drive the car as if you are going to take the shortcut to the right of the cop car, but steer left at the last moment and stay on the paved road. The cop will take the short cut and lose sight of you for a while. After driving across the iron-work bridge and through the underpass, another cop will be waiting on the left. Follow the fence line on the right very closely and take the shortcut down the hill. This will not only shave seconds off of your lap time, but help you to lose the cops.
